Summary: | A simple technique to develop a broadband dual-feed dual-polarized triangular patch antenna has been presented. L-probe feeding and two shorted walls orthogonal to each other have been adopted for wide impedance bandwidth with high isolation. The shorted walls help to achieve higher compactness. The antenna performance has been optimized using commercial finite element method-based solver Ansoft HFSS. A prototype has been fabricated and performance evaluated. The antenna yields 13% impedance bandwidth at each of the ports with only TM

mode and inter-port isolation better than 30 dB. The measured gain is nearly 6.4 dBi at either port. Relevant measurement results are also presented. |
