Summary:The reaction of methyl esters of 4-aryl-2-hydroxy-4-oxobut-2-enoic (aroylpyruvic) acids with 2-aminobenzenesulfonamide in glacial acetic acid in the presence of anhydrous sodium acetate, 4-aryl-2-hydroxy-4-oxo- N -(2-sulfamoylphenyl)but-2-enamides were obtained. The analgesic and antimicrobial activity of the obtained compounds was studied.
