Description
Summary:Santos features several libraries that received a grant from TSLAC's Texas Digital Navigators Grant Program, which helped them develop and implement a unique digital navigator program to close the digital divide in their area in a measurable way. Digital navigators are individuals who address the whole digital inclusion process--home connectivity, devices, and digital skills--with community members. While the funding from those grants only extended to the end of 2022, many of the libraries that won grants have secured additional funding from other grant sources to continue their programs. While it might sound dry on paper, the reality is that digital navigators help individuals every day with navigating modern life, in efforts that seem simple but that are truly transformative.
