Summary:Gimba reports on her visits to the Gambia and Nigeria. She has led a delegation of the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP) Africa Steering Committee on a visit to Gambia. The CWP delegation met with the Gender Committee of the National Assembly to discuss issues affecting women in politics and the strategies available to overcome them. She visited two community projects in her Federal constituency of Bama, Ngala and Kalabalge in Borno State. The first was a local program for women and girls which provides education and support for business start-ups and the second was an Arabic and Quranic Centre where she spoke to both male and female students. The working trip has revealed real issues of concern from the people of Gamboru Ngala who are more than eager to have their lives back.
