Redox Conditions of Formation of Rocks of the Priiskovy Massif and Their Metallogenic Consequences (South Sikhote–Alin, Primorye)

Based on the zircons of the Priiskovy massif, the U-Pb method (SHRIMP-II) established a close Cenomanian age of amphibole granodiorites of the magnetite and ilmenite series (96.91 ± 0.88 and 96.5 ± 1.2 Ma). Based on a set of features (measurements of magnetic susceptibility, the magnetic fraction co...

Description
Summary:Based on the zircons of the Priiskovy massif, the U-Pb method (SHRIMP-II) established a close Cenomanian age of amphibole granodiorites of the magnetite and ilmenite series (96.91 ± 0.88 and 96.5 ± 1.2 Ma). Based on a set of features (measurements of magnetic susceptibility, the magnetic fraction content, the composition of dark and magnetic minerals, the content of Fe 2+ and Fe 3+ ), significant differences in the magnetic characteristics of the intrusive rocks of the same age were established. Among the relatively homogeneous central ilmenite zone of the Sikhote–Alin Orogenic Belt, the local occurrence of magnetite rocks of the Priiskovy massif explains the distribution of deposits and ore occurrences of the studied ore site. All Sn ore deposits and occurrences the Priiskovy massif are located in the distribution zone of rocks of the ilmenite series (reducing conditions) and gold deposits and placers and manifestations of polymetallic mineralization—in the zone of rocks of the magnetite series (oxidizing conditions).
