Summary: | Construction Project Management has played an important role in any project development since decades ago in ensuring project success. The input it gives to the industry has been tremendous. Its role becomes more crucial than before, especially during the unprecedented economic challenges, where project success is measured beyond the normal criterion. In such circumstances, construction project management professionals must look at new dimensions in project development processes to ensure the return of investment to the project stakeholders is still achievable. Since the traditional project management triangle objective is proven to be insufficient to ensure stakeholder objectives are achieved, a study was conducted on additional dimensions other than time, cost, and quality; at the same time, additional roles that construction project management professionals must play to achieve stakeholders’ objectives. Project management professionals must be equipped with new knowledge and familiarize themselves with additional processes to perform the additional tasks. Findings from the study were applied in the real project development environment, and the results are proven to be positive towards achieving shareholders’ objectives. It is believed that the added dimensions and processes applied during the project development lifecycle provide a "Reality Check" which was the key to ensuring project success, especially during a challenging time. |
