Summary: | Farming is the fundamental profession for the survival of humankind in the colourful, beautiful world. Efficient and effective farming can provide better throughput than an inefficient one. The proper application of information and communication technology (ICT) can support farmers in applying scientific knowledge in their cultivation. Application of ICT in agriculture, from this point of view, this research focused on developing an android mobile device based expert system for farmers. The expert system for paddy leaf disease (ESPLD) has two wings, namely, (i) paddy information systems and (ii) Paddy leaf disease recognition system. The main goal is to identify whether the paddy leaf is affected by disease and incorporate a database system for the android application to provide details about reasons and solutions for various paddy diseases. Simple image processing techniques, namely, Erosion and Threshold, are used for feature extraction. A fuzzy rule-based system is developed for disease recognition. The success rate of disease recognition is 96%. Using this ESPLD app in farming is strongly recommended because it is user-friendly, low cost, portable, and resourceful informative. |
