Summary: | The current condition of waste production has become a global problem for cleaning agencies in various cities. The problems faced are the increase in waste production and the lack of transportation for transporting waste. Based on these problems, a short-term solution is needed in the form of a waste container status information system that can provide the latest information on the location of full waste containers so that they can provide input to waste transportation officers to make optimal waste transportation priority. This study aims to design and build a waste container status notification system prototype with a GSM wireless mobile communication system. The prototype was built using an ultrasonic sensor as an input component, an Arduino Uno microcontroller as a processing component and a GSM module as an output component. System testing is carried out using a garbage container construction with a height of 30cm. Tests were carried out by simulating the heights of trash at 10cm, 13cm, 17cm, 21cm and 24cm with the results of undelivered SMS. at a height of 27cm, the SMS status shows the result sent with the time that the user received is 4 seconds. In general, the prototype has successfully sent SMS to the user in the preconfigured conditions. |
