A New Ester from the Roots of Cannabis sativa

A new amine, 3-methyl-1′-amino-3′-hydroxypropyl pentanoate ( 1 ), was isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of the roots of Cannabis sativa L. The structure was established by spectroscopic analyses including 1D and 2D NMR ( 1 H, 13 C, COSY, HMBC, HSQC, and COSY) and EI-MS.
