Summary: | This mini-review summarizes the current state of research on transgenic plants expressing elicitor proteins— inducers of natural plant immunity, namely harpins and flagellin. Practically significant agricultural crops expressing these proteins are considered, namely cereals (rice, wheat), vegetable crops (potato, sugar beet), fruit crops (pear, orange), agricultural plants of other groups (soybean, rapeseed, cotton). An increase in the resistance of these plants to various phytopathogens due to the harpin or flagellin expression is described in detail. |
