Description
Summary:Water pollution is an environmental and common health effect alarming the entire living ecosystem around the Globe, in the 21st Century. To get fresh and clean water by eliminating heavy metals as well as harmful substances from wastewater is now a challenging environmental task. For this purpose, the role of adsorption technology is very efficient in removing toxic heavy metals as well as synthetic dyes by applying appropriate adsorbents. Due to excellent elimination efficiency, the adsorption performance of carbon-based nanomaterials is believed to be a superior technology for the remediation of water toxicity. This study aimed at the already synthesized Manganese associated GO by the modified Hummer’s method followed by the solvothermal process, and to estimate the efficiency of GO for heavy metal adsorption in real synthetic wastewater due to its attached oxygen functional group and superior specific surface area. Compared to the removal efficiency, higher values were found for copper, cadmium, Nickel, and then Chromium. The results support the applicability of GO to treat surface water, even in real and synthetic as well as industrial wastewater as considered throughout the experiment.
