Summary:Every household has a plethora of devices like TV, Smart phones; Refrigerator, Washing Machine, Computer, Printer and Air-Conditioner, but they are all incoherent, independent and not very energy efficient. Home Area Network (HAN) resolves the problem by offering better accessibility, easy maintenance and management, security, and resource sharing. HAN is a significant part of the smart grid. Smart grid is an auto-balancing, self-monitoring power grid that incorporates various generation concepts and technologies. This paper is a detailed insight into various technologies and concepts associated with Home Area Network.
