Summary: | Bismuth telluride chalcogenide is one of the best performing room temperature thermoelectric materials with a temperature independent thermoelectric effect. Sol-gel auto-combustion is a wet chemical method which is a simple established technique for preparing nanomaterials. This paper reports synthesis of bismuth telluride nanoparticles by sol gel auto-combustion method. The proposed revolutionary approach for synthesis of thermoelectric materials is inexpensive, simple, and novel method to achieve high quality end products. Bismuth telluride alloys are excellent candidates for the applications of topological insulators, thermoelectric cooling devices etc. Synthesis of any of the phases of bismuth telluride by this method is reported for the first time. |
