Summary: | Exposure to such aggressive environments as acidic, alkaline, and neutral media, as well as UV radiation is a factor that promotes a decrease in the strength level inherent in the materials of building structures (concrete, metal), and, consequently, their durability and reliability. In order to level the negative effect of environmental factors on structural elements, these elements are protected with polymeric paint-and-varnish coatings. It is shown that an increase in the efficiency of protective coatings promotes the application of activated fillers in polymeric compositions. It has been established that the filling of styrene-acrylic compositions with kaolines activated by means of ultrasound and acetic acid provides saving color characteristics inherent in the coatings, whereas the introduction of a thermally activated filler provides an increase in the level of resistance with respect to aggressive media. |
