Summary: | Formation of ultrashort pulses in a fiber laser cavity with a slow saturated absorber and spectral filter is studied. It is found that the finite relaxation time of the saturable absorber in a cavity with full normal chromatic dispersion leads to the spectral shift of generated pulses with respect to the central wavelength of the spectral filter. The numerical results are verified using two experimental laser sources: a fiber ring laser with a saturable semiconductor mirror and a fiber laser with a nonlinear amplifying loop mirror. The obtained results are topical for designing sources of ultrashort pulses in applications for which spectral properties of the radiation are essential. |
