Description
Summary:TCP plays an important role in the internet of things since it provides a reliable end-to-end connection between two nodes, due to its reliability. It attracts researchers to investigate and propose many congestions control protocols. They try to improve their throughput, occupy the available bandwidth, and maintain the fairness index to approach unity. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of high-speed TCP variants with IoT-like environments and compare between them in terms of their throughput, congestion window, and packet loss. The result shows that TCP Cubic outperforms other protocols in terms of average throughput but at the same time it has higher packet loss at higher speed as compared to the other high-speed variants. TCP YeAH presents the lowest packet loss and the second-highest throughput after TCP Cubic. The Goodput for TCP YeAH is better than TCP Cubic at highest speeds. The interesting result this work has revealed is that TCP YeAH outperforms TCP Cubic in terms of Goodput.
