Summary: | The results of experimental studies are presented in this paper. They are about production of titanium carbide powder using an atmospheric pressure arc reactor. The resulting material was successfully sintered to obtain bulk ceramics of TiC and TiC–TaC–SiC composition. Experimental studies on powder synthesis were carried out on a laboratory plasma arc reactor, ceramic sintering on spark plasma sintering unit. The X-ray phase analysis of the synthesized powder and sintered ceramics has been carried out. The thermophysical properties of bulk ceramics have been studied. |
