Summary: | The macroscopic heterogeneity of plastic flow under uniaxial tensile testing of flat Fe-Cr-Ni polycrystal samples is studied within a temperature range of 180 K < T < 297 K. In particular, the regularities of plastic deformation are highlighted via accurate reconstruction of displacement vector fields using speckle photography and calculation of plastic distortion tensor components. It is found that the plastic flow manifests itself within the entire temperature range under consideration. The spatial distributions of plastic distortion tensor components, including local longitudinal, transverse, shear, and rotational, are analyzed as well. At last, the nonlinear change in the coefficient of transverse deformation from the level of acting stresses is established. |
