description The Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has carried out an inventory and evaluation, one of which is in Sukabumi Regency which has the potential for rock and non-metallic mineral spread over 53 location points. One of them in Sukamulya Village, Cikembar District, Sukabumi Regency, which has the potential for residual limestone mining minerals, calcite minerals (CaCO3). The problem that is currently happening is that the calcite mineral is left alone because the chemical quality is relative low and becomes a waste material by mining companies. The solution is to take advantage of the physical properties of the calcite mineral, one of which is to become an art item in the form of decorative lamp. Utilization as an art item can be categorized as a small/home industry because, 1) in the process of making this lamp craft does not require large capital, 2) does not require high technology in the processing, 3) the production process can be done at home and does not require a large work area, 4) the process can be carried out at least 1 person, does not require special knowledge or expertise certified in the workmanship of the art item. So that in addition to achieving the goal of mineral conservation, it will also have an impact on opening up business opportunities for the local community.
