Summary: | Olive fiber-reinforced polymer biocomposites were designed and produced within the framework of the LIFE-COMP0LIVE project (co-financed by the European Commission). These were designed according to a mathematical modelling previously developed based on the Design of Experiment methodology. The production and subsequent characterization of such biocomposites, either with recycled polypropylene or polylactic acid polymer matrices, demonstrated their suitability for some industrial applications (automotive and furniture). The results of the mechanical characterization showed that these materials meet the requirements of industrial applications. Moreover, these biocomposites were significantly improved in terms of some mechanical properties. |
