Summary:The electrical discharge machining (EDM) of heat-resistant alloys is investigated. The regression models obtained describe the influence of the treatment conditions on the productivity and the surface roughness of the workpiece. A method is developed for finding the optimal EDM parameters that ensure the required machining outcome. A multilevel system is created for calculating the EDM conditions; this system identifies the parameters ensuring the best economic outcome under specific constraints.
