Summary: | The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of hygrothermal properties of bricks on the heat and moisture transport during the freeze-thaw process of bricks. A one-dimensional heat and moisture transfer model considering the freeze-thaw process is established and then the effects of thermal conductivity, permeability and water characteristic curve on heat and moisture transport during freezing and thawing process are analyzed under fixed boundary conditions. The results show that the larger the thermal conductivity of the brick, the lower the overall temperature of the wall, and the larger the freezing range and ice content. Bricks with high liquid transfer ability and less water storage capacity cause more moisture to move from the non-freezing zone to the freezing zone, resulting in more ice content and larger freezing area. The results improved the understanding of the mechanism of heat and moisture transport during freeze-thaw of bricks. |
