Description
Summary:A comparative analysis of the main energy characteristics of multipulse rectifier units of traction substations is carried out. A mathematical model is proposed for the study of active energy losses in magnetic circuits of electrical devices containing structures made of ferromagnetic materials, such as transformers, reactors, motors, and other electrical machines. Power losses in the magnetic circuits of converter transformers of multipulse rectifier–inverter units, which are primarily due to eddy currents and hysteresis, are investigated. Methods to account the influence of both phenomena (eddy currents and hysteresis) on the level of active losses are proposed. The idea of calculating the instantaneous inductances and mutual inductances of the windings of the converter transformer of multipulse rectifier–inverter units based on the electromagnetic-field pattern is substantiated.
