Description
Summary:In Nepal and globally, women make up a smaller proportion of those working in physics and in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) field in general. Many women are hesitant to have careers in these fields because of the work environment, which is unfriendly to women. This study presents the recent trends of the student population in Nepal. Specifically, the period between 2014 and early 2019 saw an increase in the number of female students at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD levels. Despite these advances, however, women still occupy a small fraction of the student body in the field of physics.
