Summary:Chronic bronchitis is a diffuse inflammatory condition of the bronchi which tends to chronicity with excessive secretion of mucus. For it to be chronic, bronchitis must manifest itself by inflammation of the bronchi for at least 3 months per year and must have existed for at least 2 years. We then talk aboutchronic obstructive bronchitis (COPD). It is also characterized by a predisposition to superinfection which becomes regular. It may be minimally symptomatic and may not reveal itself that from an acute bronchial infection which will be the point starting point of lasting bronchial inflammation.
