Description
Summary:Electrochemical 1,2‐dioxygenation is a sustainable tool for introducing important vicinal diol‐related structures in alkenes. The scuba divers in the cover picture perform the highly efficient diacetoxylation of alkenes using renewable electricity as the driving force, as reported by Dirk De Vos and co‐workers in their Research Article (e202311539). Excellent yields are obtained with a wide scope of aliphatic and aromatic alkenes in an atom‐efficient and versatile protocol, with also application to lactone synthesis.
