Performance of an Ice Bank with Falling Film Flow around a Melting Surface

The characteristics of an ice bank with a film flowing around melting ice at the surface of a coaxial coil are investigated. The operating temperature is 20–60°C, and the water consumption at the input is 0.25–1.0 kg/s. The heat extracted is determined as a function of the irrigation density, the te...

Description
Summary:The characteristics of an ice bank with a film flowing around melting ice at the surface of a coaxial coil are investigated. The operating temperature is 20–60°C, and the water consumption at the input is 0.25–1.0 kg/s. The heat extracted is determined as a function of the irrigation density, the temperature of the incoming water, and the discharge duration. Thanks to the film flow, the water temperature at the output is 0.5–1.0°C above the melting point of ice.
