Description
Summary:Numerical simulations of the airflow inside a portable air purification device have been carried out. The simplified system geometry is comprised of key components – fans, particle filters and UV lamps for disinfection, which are included in the model. The study investigates the velocity distribution, UV irradiance, and its impact on air disinfection. The effects of the flow rate and UV dose on the purification efficacy have been investigated. The findings provide valuable insights for optimising the design and configuration of air purification devices, and their potential role in reducing the transmission of airborne diseases.
