Summary: | With the development of large-scale bottom-blowing furnaces, the oxygen lance jet and the smelting effect are more and more closely linked. The reasonable setting of the oxygen lance jet has become a significant problem that hinders the development of large oxygen bottom-blowing furnaces. This paper uses ANSYS series software to numerically simulate the melt flow characteristics in a large bottom-blowing furnace under nine operating conditions. The results indicate that the oxygen lance jet at different positions significantly impacts the stirring of the molten pool surface and the longitudinal direction of the molten pool center, thereby affecting the smelting reaction process. When the oxygen lance jet is at 9° and 24° from opposite sides, the effective stirring rate of the molten pool surface is 45.8%, and the longitudinal penetration depth is 1.76 m. The molten pool gas content rate, average melt velocity, and average turbulence energy of melt are relatively high. It is a suitable oxygen lance arrangement method, which provides good kinetic conditions for the smelting process of the large bottom-blowing furnace.
