Summary:Rectangular micro strip antenna loaded with circular and rectangular slots is designed for 24.8GHz resonating frequency, using copper. The antenna is designed and analyzed using CST microwave studio tool. The proposed antenna uses Rogers RT Duroid substrate with microstrip feed. An antenna having round and rectangular notches play vital role in achieving the resonant frequency at 24.8 GHz. The proposed antenna characteristics are observed such as radiation patterns, efficiency, Gain, and excitation response and good radiating behavior is observed at 24.8 GHz. The antenna has a bandwidth of 700MHz and radiation efficiency of 100%. It can be used for millimeter wave 5G applications.
