Description
Summary:Negative changes in the mechanical properties of steels of 20L class over the service life of cast parts of freight car bogies of 32 years, including cyclic fracture toughness, were revealed. The kinetic curve of degeneration of cyclic fracture toughness, conditions of fatigue failure and equivalence of two states of steel with different cyclic operating time are selected, which make it possible to predict the fatigue life of a part. An algorithm has been developed for calculating the fatigue life of a part, taking into account negative changes in the elastic modulus of steel, the coefficient of transverse deformation and cyclic fracture toughness during cyclic operating time. Degenerate curves of controlled mechanical properties of 20L class steel are provided. The obtained results are compared with the fatigue life prediction of the part according to the Palmgren-Miner hypothesis, as well as with the results of laboratory tests of a plate with a hole.
