Summary:A scientific and technical literature review in the field of composite materials (CMs) based on aluminum matrices reinforced with refractory particles is presented. We consider the liquid-phase and powder technologies of the fabrication of CMs based on aluminum alloys reinforced with different volume contents of refractory particles. The main structural features and mechanical characteristics of these composites are briefly described.
