Summary:Manganese(II) and cobalt(III) complexes [Mn(HL)Cl 2 ] ( 1 ) and [Co(L) 2 ]Cl ( 2 ) with 2-amino- N '-(pyridin-2-ylmethylene)benzhydrazide (HL) were synthesized. Complexes 1 and 2 contain a neutral acylhydrazone molecule ( 1 ) or two acylhydrazones in the anionic form ( 2 ) in the coordination sphere of the metal centers. In vitro antibacterial and antifungal activities of acylhydrazone HL and coordination compound 2 were assessed.
