description | This study aims to improve student activity and learning outcomes. This research is a Class Action Research with the subject of the study being 31 class VIII.8 students from a State Junior High School in Surakarta City, Central Java, Indonesia in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 Academic Year. The object of this study is student activities and learning outcomes. Student activity data is obtained with observation sheet instruments and student learning outcomes are obtained with test questions. The data are analyzed by qualitative descriptive methods. This study shows an increase in student activity from being quite active in cycle I to being active in cycle II. Meanwhile, the average student scored from 74.9 in cycle I to 80 in cycle II and the completion of student classical learning from 74.2% in cycle I to 93.5% in cycle II. In conclusion, the implementation of an ethnomathematics-oriented problem-based learning model can improve students’ mathematics learning activities and outcomes in class VIII.8 a state junior high school in Surakarta City, Central Java, Indonesia. |
