Summary: | This study presents two different control approaches i.e., Proportional-integral-derivative (PID) and Adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) for control of active suspension system of quarter car model. Mathematical model of the system has been developed and initially simulated using PID controller. The results of PID were considered as data sets for training of ANFIS controller. The objective is to design an ANFIS controller with least possible number of membership function in order to overcome the problem of rule explosion associated with fuzzy controllers. The results of both the controllers has been compared which indicate superior performance of ANFIS controller in terms of settle time and overshoot responses. Further, both the controllers demonstrated very good steady state response. |
