Summary: | Trends in the field of transformer application show most of the conducted works have focused only on enhancing mineral oil but limited studies on enhancing palm oil. In this paper, electrical properties of palm oil under different treatment were investigated. This study focused on AC breakdown voltage, dielectric dissipation factor, relative permittivity, resistivity and Raman spectroscopy on the combination of proper treated palm oil as one of the natural esters. Based on the results, sample that endures filtering and drying process possess better performance as an insulating oil. Moreover, the outcome from measurement will be discussed by using Origin Software In comparison, among all of the samples, dried palm oil has the potential in replacing mineral oil since it passes all insulation test proposed in this study. |
