Summary: | Application of artificial neural networks for optimization of plasma spraying parameters was considered. Artificial neural networks were used to select realistic parameters of titanium and hydroxyapatite powder coating of titanium products. For titanium coatings, the optimal arc current was found to be 380-450 A; optimal spraying distance, 100-150 mm; optimal titanium powder dispersity, 40-90 μm. Similar optimal ranges were obtained for hydroxyapatite coatings. The goal of the optimization wais to maximize the coating adhesion to the substrate and to improve its porosity. |
