Description
Summary:The biomechanical properties of the glutaraldehyde-stabilized bovine jugular vein were studied. It was established that glutaraldehyde-treated venous wall exhibits pronounced biomechanical anisotropy. It was also found that the dilatation of tubes made from the glutaraldehyde-treated venous wall depends on the orientation of the biological tissue. The obtained results can serve as a potential basis for the development of new extracardiaс venous conduits with enhanced resistance to dilatation.
