To observe the clinical efficacy of electroacupuncture for knee osteoarthritis (KOA).
Method
Forty KOA cases were randomized into an electroacupuncture and a tuina group (20 cases in each group) by their visit order. The therapeutic efficacy was evaluated by the WOMAC osteoarthritis index obtained prior to the treatment, and 2 or 4 weeks afterwards. In addition, the gait prior to the treatment and afterwards were tested by a gait analyzer.
Results
The WOMAC scale revealed that after 4 weeks of treatment, cases in both groups got significant improvement (
