Summary:In the present investigation, a hybrid composite is prepared through the double stir casting method. The composition of the fabricated hybrid composite is Al8090-2SiC-xwt.% B 4 C (x = 0, 2, 4, 6). As perArchimede’s principle, density is measured, and hardness is measured in Vickers hardness tester on the fabricated composites. Characterization testing like x-ray diffraction (XRD), optical microscopy (OM) and scanning electron microscopy equipped with SEM-EDX were carried out on the samples. The wear behavior of the hybrid composite is measured using a pin-on-disc apparatus. The wear mechanism on the wear surface and debris were interpreted with the aid of an SEM micrograph.
