Summary:Unplanned agricultural practices and human activities are the main reasons for environmental damage, which consequently disturbs food production at the global level. It is also a significant threat to food security. Using silicon for alleviation of stresses in different plants has been reported in various studies. In this review, we will discuss how silicon plays an essential role in alleviating many stresses by improving plants mineral uptake.
