Summary: | Asperger’s syndrome (AS) is a form of autism where the person experiences significant challenges in interacting socially, expressing non-verbal communication, and demonstrating empathy. [...]few books specifically address a mindfulness-based approach to coping with and managing AS. Mitchell presents a mindfulness exercise designed to guide beginners in the creation of a mindfulness meditation practice, while cautioning them to be careful regarding the creation of a routine that may then cause stress if it cannot be completed as planned. In Chapter 3, Mitchell helps people with AS to first recognize symptoms they experience as a result of their diagnosis and to see how those experiences result in their interpretation of life around them. |
