Summary:The model used as the basis for strategic management decisions imposes certain requirements on the company’s value chain and, consequently, on the development of strategies determined by it. The article discusses the mechanism of developing a strategy that is considered integral to the functioning of the economic system. The mechanism of strategy development is a set of decision-making rules that guide the company in planning its activities. Within the scope of the study, with regard to the operational potential of an organization’s strategic management, the topic of adaptive management is considered. The role of adaptive management mechanisms is presented as a potential component of the operational potential of a small enterprise. The authors believe that this will have a positive impact on the volume of the industrial market and will make small and medium-sized enterprises one of the drivers of economic growth.
