Summary: | Purpose
The aim of this study is to report two cases of pyogenic granuloma (PG) in young patients treated with high-power laser (HPL). The first case is from a 4-year-old male patient who presented a nodular lesion located on the left side of the vermilion of the lower lip measuring approximately 1.0 cm in diameter, with ulcerated surface and sessile base, fibrous consistency, and a reddish color, showing areas of bleeding. The second case is from a 15-year-old male patient who presented a nodular lesion located near the midline of the lower lip with approximately 2.0 cm in diameter, with a rough surface,
pedunculated
base, fibrous consistency, and reddish color. The treatment of choice for both lesions was surgical excision with HPL. Histopathological analysis confirmed the diagnosis of PG for both cases.
Conclusion
The use of HPL allowed excision without transoperative bleeding, and there was no recurrence of the lesions. |
