Description
Summary:We consider the problem of limit equilibrium of a long cylindrical shell containing a longitudinal crack under the action of a load varying as a function of time. For the case of symmetric loading of the crack, we construct a system of singular integral equations for the determination of the force and moment intensity factors at the crack ends. In the case of a load varying as a function of time according to the exponential law, we analyze the dependences of the dynamic force and moment intensity factors on the rate of changes in the load and the crack length for shells made of steel, copper, and cast iron.
