Summary: | Policies related to plastic waste management in the coastal areas of Padang City are still very minimal. It is proven that there is no policy that explains explicitly the management and solutions to plastic waste in the coastal area of Padang City. If the coastal area of Padang City does not get special attention regarding the management of plastic waste, of course, this will have an impact on the environmental management of the City of Padang. The purpose of this study is to evaluate plastic waste policy in the Coastal City of Padang and reconstruction of plastic waste policy for coastal environmental at Padang City. This study uses descriptive method with interview the stakeholders have responsibility in policy at Padang City. Policies related to the management of plastic waste in the coastal area of Padang City are still very minimal. The existing policies only focus on managing household waste or other waste on land. The only policy that can be used as a guide in managing plastic waste in the coastal area of Padang City is the Presidential Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 83 of 2018 concerning Marine Waste Management. However, in reality, the follow-up to this regulation has not been optimally implemented by several regions that have a relatively large coastal area, one of which is the city of Padang.
