Summary: | In healthcare, remote monitoring reduces manual clinical documentation and enhances monitoring of patients which creates the need for IoT in healthcare. It communicates real-time medical information to the cloud making it possible to collect, store and analyze a large amount of data in several new forms and activate context-based alarms. This novel information acquisition model allows continuous and pervasive medical information access from any connected device over the internet. The current process is studied with IoT-based health systems. This study on the application of equipment utilization monitoring systems for ICU types of equipment using the Internet of Things (IoT) was conducted in a private multi-specialty hospital, Chennai to enhance the process of monitoring the equipment throughout the hospital. The study was confined to ICU equipment. This study is a Proof of Concept (POC) to enhance the monitoring of the vital equipment in the ICU using IoT technology. Thus, the types of equipment can be remotely monitored and can be used in automated billing when integrated into the HIS of the hospital. Different Proof of Concept (POC) was done based on the Real-time locating systems in a private multi-specialty hospital as a part of this study. This technology helps the doctors, nurses, and medical technologists to monitor the medical equipment and track the clinical parameters which make it simpler for the non-clinical as well as the administrative department to function and smoothly manage the hospital. |
