Summary: | A 7‐year 6‐month‐old, male, neutered Shih Tzu had an oesophagostomy tube placed for nutritional support following surgery for management of extrahepatic biliary obstruction secondary to cholelithiasis. The oesophagostomy tube was removed 1 week following surgery, with no abnormalities noted. The dog re‐presented 7 months later with a persistent discharge at the previous stoma site. This was diagnosed as an oesophagocutaneous fistula following oesophagoscopy and ultrasound examination. The fistula was closed surgically, and the dog made a full recovery. |
