Summary: | Platforms such as social networks have positively influenced teaching and learning processes; however, dishonest practices such as academic plagiarism are also evident. The present research analyzes the positive and negative aspects of the use of technology in higher education, specifically the relationship between the use of the Internet and the level of plagiarism of university students. The results indicate that students with characteristics such as: high level of internet access, technology addictive behaviors and high income levels, tend to plagiarize more than their counterparts with the opposite characteristics.
