Description
Summary:[...]AIHEC seeks to eliminate race and income as predictors of Native student success, making the organization a natural choice to lead this transformation in higher education. Together, TCUs can build ownership and trust within strong circles of support that include collaborators, partners, and experts. Because TCUs share a collective understanding of the importance of community, equity, sovereignty, and place, they can readily commit to sustainable change. LEVERAGING DATA TO BUILD STRONG TRIBAL NATIONS Fundamental to the organizational culture of all TCUs is the goal of nation building. Because tribal nations and communities look to their TCUs for both leadership and the development of new leaders, any proposed change must be attentive to these realities. AIHEC's regular touchpoints with board members, TCU presidents, and decades of experience in the tribal context ensure that these considerations will be appropriately integrated into the onboarding process for service providers who engage with TCUs.
